MATERIALS

We use only high quality exterior grade materials in everything that we make. We do not use any nails. All screws and bolts are high quality coated exterior screws. We also use high quality exterior heavy duty liquid nails, wood glue, wood filler, and caulk. We do our utmost to keep your jumps lasting as long as possible, year after year. Although we will use non-pressure treated wood for custom orders, unless requested we only use pressure treated wood products. We take our time to hand select each piece of lumber we use. The wood needs time to settle and dry before work can begin. Cedar products are also available for added fees, please contact us for details.

A NOTE ABOUT CRACKING

Unfortunately, all wood will crack as it ages. How soon and how much cracking will occur depends on multiple factors such as the type, structure, age, and grain of the individual tree used along with how it is used, stored, and treated. Humidity, ground surface, and local temperature also affect the cracking of wood. It is something that we are not responsible for, as there is nothing we can do to prevent any cracking that may occur. We do our best to avoid selecting any pieces displaying large cracks or that we feel may be more likely to present them in the future.

If you would like cracks filled and sealed to delay the appearance of cracking, we are happy to do this for you per your request. Please note there is an additional fee, contact us for details. This service is not available on products sold unpainted or stained. Take note that filling cracks on wood to be painted may result in some areas of discoloration due to the stain covering different types of material in the same area.

PAINT

For paint, we use a few different kinds depending on the project. All paint that we use is high quality exterior grade, designed to be fade/mildew/mold/crack/peel resistant. We try to use the most durable paints that we can find, and are always looking into new high durability products. If you have a favorite paint brand you would like us to use, we'd be happy to do so. Keep in mind that there may be a price difference.

For finish, we highly recommend semi-gloss. Of course you always have the choice of a satin finish, but semi-gloss is more durable. We do not paint with "flat" finish paints. For an additional fee, you can upgrade to our premium paints upon request. Duluxe standards include premium paints at no additional fee.

For all other jumps unless otherwise specified, we use Sherwin Williams Weathershield. We have found this to be an excellent paint, and very durable. It is your choice of satin or semi-gloss finishes, but we always recommend semi-gloss for added durability. The stain we use depends largely on a number of factors.
